Compliance, Commitment and Creativity — which is more Profitable?

The obvious answer is “it depends”, and even providing context without a framework can be as useful as a chocolate teapot. Employees, contractors, managers and owners all fit in Maslow’s “Hierarchy of Needs” . They may sacrifice the higher levels of Self Actualisation Needs for alternative compensation such as more money — but such compliance will be transitory.
